According to the information provided by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), the wall behind the house of one Praveen Das in Maroda village under Dhanaulti tehsil collapsed after it was hit by debris following the recent heavy downpour in the region.

“On Sunday morning, Tehri District Disaster Management Officer (DDMO) informed that a house has been damaged due to debris coming from Maroda Bridge, Saklana Patti, in which a boy and a girl are buried. Teams of the SDRF were asked to reach the spot in view of a search and rescue operation on the possibility of a cloudburst over Saklana Patti,” reads a statement issued by the SDRF.

“On the said information, the SDRF team from Post Sahasradhara left for the immediate spot along with Head Constable Sushil Kumar. In the said incident, the wall behind the house of one Praveen Das collapsed due to rain in the night in the village Maroda of Tehsil Dhanaulti, in which his two children were buried. Revenue and police officials rescued the children and rushed them to the primary Health Centre in Satyo, where they were declared brought dead by the doctors,” the SDRF statement adds.
