Tripura cricketer Manisankar Murasingh (Photo via his Facebook page)Tripura cricketer Manisankar Murasingh was awarded the prestigious Lala Amarnath Award by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday for being the best all-rounder in Ranji Trophy cricket in 2019-20 with 598 runs and 49 wickets in his kitty. Murasingh, 31, a right-arm pacer and a lower-order batsman, was handed over the award by former Indian skipper and current national head coach Rahul Dravid in Hyderabad. Congratulating him on the award, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha posted on X on Tuesday evening, “Many best wishes and congratulations to allrounder cricketer from Tripura Manishankar Murasingh for being accorded the Lala Amarnath Award as best allrounder at the BCCI award ceremony in Hyderabad”. Union Minister of State for Social Empowerment and Justice Pratima Bhoumik also congratulated the Tripura cricketer. Bhoumik wrote on social media, “Tripura Ranji vice captain and allrounder Manishankar Murasingh was given the Lala Amarnath Award for his astounding performance in 2019-20 Ranji Trophy season”. The Union minister also wished Murasingh well for his future.
