Tripura Assembly Winter Session to start on January 10

The last Winter Session of the Tripura Assembly started on January 5 and continued till January 11.

The sixth session of the Tripura Assembly will begin on January 10 next year, officials said Tuesday.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by Clause (1) of Article 174 of the Constitution of India, I, Shri Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, Governor of Tripura, hereby summon the 6th Session of the 13th Tripura Legislative Assembly to meet at 1100 hrs. on the 10th January, 2025 in the Assembly House at New Capital Complex, Agartala,” said a notification.

The business days during the Assembly session would be finalised during a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC).

Assembly Speaker Biswabandhu Sen said several steps, including allowing visitors with valid passes to enter the House and restriction on usage of mobile phones during the session, have been taken to ensure security during the Winter Session.

The last Winter Session of the Tripura Assembly started on January 5, and continued till January 11. During the session, Chief Minister Manik Saha moved a motion to raise funds under the Member of Legislative Assembly Local Area Development (MLALAD) Scheme. The motion for sanctioning an annual expenditure of Rs. 45 crore for the current allocation of Rs. 30 crore was passed with a majority.
