THE SUPREME Court on Wednesday took exception to certain “derogatory” statements allegedly made by AAP MP Sanjay Singh in connection with the Rafale and CBI cases and said it will not hear his petition seeking review of its December 14, 2018 judgment in the Rafale matter.

Assembling post lunch, Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, heading a three-judge Bench hearing the Rafale review petitions, asked senior advocate Sanjay Hegde representing Singh which political party his client belonged to. Hegde replied that Singh was a Rajya Sabha member from AAP.

The CJI told him, “We have with us some statements of your client which are very very derogatory.” The counsel replied he was not aware of the statements. The CJI said that in view of this, the court was not inclined to give Singh a hearing.

“We are certainly going to do something more,” the CJI said, and clarified “we are going to hear you in the context of some statements in the Rafale case and CBI case”.
