SP,JKNPP seek explanation from Cong on J-K minister’s quote

Simply disowning the statement of Sharma by Congress Spokesman will not convince masses as it has larger ramifications on the unity and integrity of three regions of the state — Jammu,Kashmir and Ladakh,he said.

Rehman said Congress should take action against Sharma for giving this “seditious statement”.

The JKNPP Chairman Bhim Singh said the statement of the Health Minister on Sunday at Bani in Kathua district that “Kashmir be granted Azadi,Jammu be made a separate state and Ladakh be given Union Territory status” is seditious and against the spirit of the constitutions of India and J-K.

Since Congress has taken no action the minister,there seems to be a message given by the party that it stands for separating Kashmir from rest of the J&K,Singh told reporters here.

Minister Sharma’s statement is nothing but “cat out of bag” and PCC leadership “overtly and covertly” has endorsed it in the rally at Kathua where Congress state Chief Saif-ud-Din Soz and senior party leaders were present,he said.

Singh said that JKNPP never supported trifurcation of the state and has been only advocating reorganisation of entire Jammu and Kashmir,including Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK).

He said that he would be meeting the Prime Minister at New Delhi tomorrow to take up this issue along with other important matters pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir.
