Patna HC allowed a newly-elected undertrial JMM MP to go to New Delhi with police escorts to attend the special session of Lok Sabha for taking oath.

Patna High Court allowed a newly-elected undertrial Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MP to go to New Delhi with police escorts to attend the special session of Lok Sabha for taking oath.

Kameshwar Baitha,lodged in Sasaram jail in connection with several criminal cases being probed by Bihar police,successfully contested the Lok Sabha elections from Palamu constituency in Jharkhand on a JMM ticket.

He yesterday moved the High Court seeking permission to go to New Delhi to attend the special session of Lok Sabha to facilitate him take oath.

Justice Mridula Mishra allowed his prayer and asked the state IG (prisons) to make arrangements for Baitha’s visit for New Delhi with escorts for “just for a day for taking oath” and his return to Sasaram jail.
