No need to send interlocutors to J-K: Panthers Party chief

The interlocutors have "created more mess in Jammu and Kashmir than the Hurriyat Conference."

Panthers Party chief Bhim Singh on Wednesday said that there was no need to send the Centre-appointed interlocutors to Jammu and Kashmir.

Singh said that he has urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to recall the three interlocutors as “they have created more mess in Jammu and Kashmir than the Hurriyat Conference.”

“We don’t need interlocutors,” the Panthers chief told reporters here.

Singh said that he has written to the prime minister, saying that the interlocutors have no role to play in the state’s affairs.

The Centre should initiate action against Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his controversial speech raising questions on the state’s merger with India,he said.

Singh demanded imposition of Governor’s Rule in Jammu and Kashmir for bringing peace in the state and asked the Congress to withdraw support from ruling National Conference.

Section 3 of the J&K Constitution clearly states that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and shall remain and integral part of India,he said.

“The Line of Control (LoC) is the only issue we have to discuss with Pakistan and it can be settled bilaterally as proposed in the Shimla and Tashkent accords,” he claimed.
