Militants hurl grenade at security forces

They said the grenade exploded by the roadside but there was no damage caused by the blast.

Militants today made an abortive bid to attack security forces in Sopore town of Baramulla district by hurling a grenade at them.

The ultras hurled a grenade towards the patrol party of security forces at Haathishah in Sopore town,52 kms from here,officials said.

They said the grenade exploded by the roadside but there was no damage caused by the blast.

Security forces were deployed in large numbers in the apple town following the overnight gunbattle in Sopore in which two militants of Harkatul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) were killed.
