Hizb militant surrenders before Army in J&K

A Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militant on Monday surrendered before Army troops in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Abdul Majeed,a HM militant belonging to Baramulla district of north Kashmir,surrendered before the Commanding Officer of 27 Rastriya Rifles at Kalie Bridge in Poonch town this afternoon,Defence sources said.

He laid down one AK-47 rifle,two magazines,70 rounds of ammunition and vowed to join the national mainstream by giving up militancy,the sources said.
