Sitting BJP MLA and Chief Parliamentary Secretary (Revenue) Sukhpal Singh Nanu,who is seeking re-election from Ferozepur Urban assembly seat,today declared assets worth Rs 30.72 crore in his nomination papers. He submitted his papers to SDM cum Returning Officer for Ferozepur (Urban) seat,Subhash Chander. According to his declaration,Singh owns Tata Safari and Skoda cars while his wife Arvinder Kaur owns a Maruti Swift. He also owns several pockets of agricultural land which includes 13 acres in Ferozepur,around 80 canals in Shergarh,two plots of 69 and 58 canals in Hoshiarpur. Besides,he owns eight shops,one petrol pump and two houses,on each in Ferozepur and Chandigarh,worth Rs 30 crore. Congress candidate Parminder Singh also declared his assets to the tune of Rs 11.38 crores which includes Rs 1.27 crores in the name of his wife Inderjit Kaur. He has four cars including Toyota Prado (in the name of his wife),Hyundai Terracan,Toyota Qualis and Hyundai Elantra and owns 15 acres agriculture land at Attari village in Moga besides a house in Manimajra (Chandigarh). Both Sukhpal Singh and Parminder Singh have chosen their spouses as their respective covering candidates.
