1,253 constables of Kashmir zone promoted

Jammu and Kashmir police has promoted 1,253 constables of Kashmir zone to the rank of head constables,a police spokesman said on Tuesday.

Kashmir IGP S M Sahai issued the orders approving the promotion of 1,253 constables following recommendations by the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC),the spokesman said.

“The DPC scrutinised service records of 1,355 constables appointed upto August 31,1998. Of these 58 were found unfit for promotion as they were awarded punishments and 35 others were kept in abeyance,” he said.

Nine constables are yet to undergo Basic Recruit Training Course,he said.
