In the third annual meeting of the Panjab University (PU) Senate Sunday, the committee will decide upon a new structure for BA, BCA, BCom and PGDCA courses at the constituent colleges of the varsity. The committee will also consider the introduction of the Pension Scheme of the Government of India in place of the Old Pension Scheme.
The Senate will also look into the funds that have been approved for various developmental projects at PU in the last three months.

The Syndicate had sanctioned Rs 10,14,700 for the construction of ramps in various buildings of the two PU campuses. Recommendations of the PU Board of Finance will also feature in the Senate meeting.
As per the recommendation of the Government of India, introduction of Hindi as a major subject at the under-graduate level will also be put forward for the information of the Senate members.
The issue arising out of the opening of a proposed college called Bajaj College at Gureh village in Ludhiana will also be tabled for consideration.
Other issues to be taken up include appointments at the varsity and the fee structure and admission process for MDS courses at Dr Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences & Hospital.
Decisions of the PU Syndicate regarding introduction of a paper on Domestic Violence against Women and Children at the under-graduate level and that of a foundation course in Human Rights education will also be reviewed.
A proposal for starting of ME (Biotechnology) course at the University Institute of Engineering & Technology (UIET) will also be tabled for ratification.
