PM Modi speaks to UK’s Rishi Sunak on bilateral ties, FTA

The discussions took place during a telephonic conversation between the two leaders on Monday, according to the PMO

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his UK counterpart, Rishi Sunak, had a telephonic conversation on Monday in which they spoke about bilateral ties, and regional and global developments, a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said.

“The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to continue to strengthen the bilateral Comprehensive Strategic partnership. They expressed satisfaction on the progress made under the Roadmap 2030 in diverse areas including trade, investment, defence, security, emerging technologies and others,” the statement said.

The two also assessed the progress made towards early conclusion of a mutually beneficial Free Trade Agreement, it added. They also exchanged greetings on the upcoming festival of Holi.
