An FIR was registered against all 71 candidates on the instruction of senior officials at Kotwali police station Morena. The police have registered a case under sections 420 (Cheating), 419 , 468 (forgery), and 471 of the IPC.
As many as 71 teachers, who were appointed in primary schools under disability quota, have been booked for faking disability and fraudulently getting disability certificates to get jobs in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district, police said on Thursday.
According to the police, 71 newly-appointed teachers had submitted certificates of being hearing impaired or visually impaired and two that of physically-challenged.
The education department officials became suspicious after it came to light that out of the 750 selected teachers under the disability quota, 450 produced the certificates issued by the Morena district hospital. District Education Officer Anup Kumar Pathak said Morena collector conducted a probe based on the instruction of the Directorate of Public Instruction, Bhopal. During the probe, out of 257 disability certificates, 71 were found to be fake.
