#Metoo: Tata Sons drops Suhel Seth’s firm; contract to end on November 30

Seth is the managing partner of Counselage. At least six women have accused Seth of sexual assault, groping, kissing them forcibly, taking them to his bedroom, and of harassment.

The first accusation came on October 10 when filmmaker Natashja Rathore tweeted screenshots of her messages sent to Seth mentioning that he had allegedly kissed her and put his hand under her clothes without her consent.

Over the next two weeks, more women used social media to share their experiences of being allegedly molested by Seth, including Mandakini Gahlot, a journalist who earlier worked with The Indian Express, who accused Seth of kissing her without her consent at a party in July 2011.

Two other women had alleged that Seth harassed them, one of them was a minor at the time of the incident.

On October 20, a spokesperson for Tata Group had said that the corporate had “noted the recent (media) reports” on alleged sexual misconduct on Seth’s part, and were “looking into the issue”. Sources said since the allegations had surfaced, Seth has not been consulted by the group.

Several other companies mentioned as clients on Counselage’s website—which has been not been working since the accusations began emerging -have distanced themselves from Seth when asked about their current relationship. Coca-Cola’s spokesperson said that “Seth is neither an employee nor a member of any of the boards of the company in India”.

Mahindra & Mahindra’s spokesperson said that “as on date” Seth “is not an adviser to the Mahindra Group”. A spokesperson for Adani Group told The Indian Express that Seth was consulted only for a “limited period” and the relationship had expired in September.

An email sent to spokesperson for GMR, another client, remained unanswered.

Seth did not respond to a phone call and multiple messages sent to his mobile phone.
