Key Rahul Gandhi aide goes missing

On Monday morning,when other returning officers went to his room,they found the door open and Nishant’s belongings lying in the room.

When Nishant did not return,they informed Youth Congress leaders. When inquiries by his parents also elicited no information,the district police and the administration were informed.

“We are worried about his safety now. Apart from police,Congress workers are searching for him,” said Arvind Chaudhary,returning officer for the YC elections in the central zone of UP.

Chaudhary said the hotel guard informed them that Nishant had left his room at around 5 am and taken a rickshaw to the railway station.

In Ahmedbad,Hasmukh Patel said he had spoken to Nishant,his only child,Sunday night and he sounded normal.
