An Army personnel among four people was killed and 43 were injured after a passenger bus fell into a deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Majeed of Kasbalari, the army personnel posted in Assam, besides Shakeela Begum, Noor Hussain and Mohammad Haneef.
Majeed was reportedly on leave and had come home to Ghani village near the LoC.
Meanwhile, L-G Manoj Sinha and CM Omar Abdullah expressed grief over the loss.
“Pained by the loss of lives due to the tragic road accident in Poonch. In this hour of grief, my thoughts are with those who have lost their loved ones. I pray for a speedy recovery of those injured in the accident,” L-G Sinha.
The CM also posted on X: “… Immediate directions have been issued to ensure the best possible medical care and full support to those affected.
