Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project: The construction of the country’s first bullet train corridor, connecting Mumbai and Ahmedabad, is progressing rapidly. The 508-km Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor passes through Gujarat, Maharashtra, and the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli. Mumbai to Surat Bullet Train Travel Time Once operational, the bullet train will reduce travel time between Mumbai and Surat by more than 100 minutes. Currently, the fastest train between Mumbai and Surat is the 12951 New Delhi Tejas Rajdhani Express, which takes 2 hours and 43 minutes, followed by the 22961 Mumbai Central–Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express (02:53 hrs) and the 12009 Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express (02:58 hrs). Last week, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that the bullet train will enable passengers to travel from Surat to Mumbai in just one hour. "So practically from Surat you can go to Mumbai in 1 hour, complete your work & come back and have time with your family," the Minister said. Mumbai to Ahmedabad Bullet Train Travel Time Similarly, the bullet train will reduce travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to just 2 hours and 7 minutes (127 minutes). "Same thing from Ahmedabad, you can go to Mumbai in 2 hours, complete your work and then spend time with your family," Vaishnaw said. Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Corridor to Boost Regional Economy Vaishnaw further stated that Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor will play an important role in transforming regional economy. "So this is really a very important project. The economies of all the major cities starting from Mumbai, Thane, Vapi, Surat, Baroda, Anand and Ahmedabad, will all become one single economy. So there is going to be a huge regional growth," the Union Minister said. Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Stations The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project will have 12 stations namely – Mumbai, Thane, Virar, Boisar, Vapi, Billimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad and Sabarmati.
