Railway projects in Rajasthan: The Ministry of Railways has approved the Final Location Survey (FLS) for a new rail line in Rajasthan, a step aimed at strengthening regional connectivity. The infrastructure project falls under the administrative control of North Western Railway (NWR).

Final Location Survey approved for new rail line from Balotra to Pachpadra in Rajasthan

The national transporter has approved the Final Location Survey (FLS) for a new 11-km rail line between Balotra and Pachpadra in Rajasthan. The proposed line is expected to improve rail connectivity for Pachpadra with Balotra, Barmer and nearby areas. “A sum of Rs 33 lakh has been sanctioned for the Final Location Survey,” the NWR said in a statement.

Significance of new rail line from Balotra to Pachpadra in Rajasthan

The Balotra to Pachpadra new railway line projects will play a crucial role in enhancing connectivity to Jodhpur, Ahmedabad, Delhi, and Jaipur. The construction of this new rail line will facilitate easier access to the refinery in Pachpadra via rail. It will also provide a new transportation option for employment, trade, agriculture, and local industries.

DPR for Balotra-Pachpadra new rail line

After the completion of the Final Location Survey (FLS) for the 11-kilometer new line between Balotra and Pachpadra, a Detailed Project Report (DPR) will be prepared based on the financial and technical feasibility of the project, and the work will be sent to the Railway Board for approval.

Final Location Survey for Devgarh Madaria-Marwar rail line

Earlier this year, the national transporter sanctioned the Final Location Survey (FLS) for a new rail line connecting Marwar Junction, a key tourist destination in Rajasthan to Devgarh Madaria via Todgarh-Ravali.

The proposed line will enhance connectivity for Rajsamand, Udaipur, Pali, and nearby regions, while also strengthening the rail link between Ahmedabad and Jaipur.
