Ambedkar Jayanti Share Market Holiday Update 2025: The Indian stock market, including the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), will be closed today, Monday, April 14, on account of Ambedkar Jayanti, and shall resume tomorrow, Tuesday, April 15.

Ambedkar Jayanti is a public holiday marking the birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, who is also renowned as the “Father of the Indian Constitution”.

Furthermore, trading in equities and derivatives shall also be closed today, in addition to currency derivatives segments.

According to the RBI Holiday Calendar for 2025, even the public and private banks in most Indian cities will also be closed today.

In 2025, the Indian stock markets are set to observe 14 holidays along with mandatory closures on the weekends – Saturday and Sunday. This may impact trading activities, necessitating that investors and traders plan accordingly.

Indian stock markets operate from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, including a pre-opening session from 9:00 AM to 9:15 AM on regular trading days.
