While BJP only levels allegations,we bring changes: Rahul Gandhi

Wherever we form the government,we change the face of that state. Delhi,Andhra Pradesh,Maharashtra,Kerala are fit examples,” Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi said while addressing a rally held at the new Jaisinghpur (SC) constituency in Kangra on Thursday.

“Till the time we bring more and more youth into politics, things will not improve. By bringing youth, corruption will be reduced and the pace of country’s progress will increase. When I talk of this,BJP makes fun of me. But we do not deliver speeches,we bring change. A new generation of young leaders is being introduced by the Congress government, which will definitely change the face of the country and reduce corruption,” Rahul said.

Rahul’s address was almost a repeat of what his mother and Congress president Sonia Gandhi had said during a rally in Mandi on Monday.

He said: “It is the Congress, which brought MNREGA. This scheme is the only employment scheme of its kind in the world. Even the world’s biggest nations are studying it. We brought RTI and took action against corruption. Has BJP ever done something like this? Whenever we talk of poor,BJP opposes it. When we introduced FDI,BJP opposed it without realising that FDI is for the benefit of the people and farmers. When we brought land acquisition policy,BJP again opposed it. When we talk of providing food for poor,BJP again opposes the same.”

“Before Congress came to power in the Centre, there was NDA government. Can anybody name even one such people-friendly policy, which NDA had introduced?” Rahul asked.

“We introduced one-rank-one-pension scheme and spent Rs 23,000 crore on providing pension to our soldiers. But when it comes to talking, leveling allegation,BJP does not think twice. They keep on saying whatever comes to their mind, without even bothering to verify it. On the contrary, when it comes to performing or working for the welfare of people,BJP cannot be seen anywhere,” he added.

While addressing the gathering,Union Minister Anand Sharma said: “We should not fall in the trap of BJP leaders and their misleading statements. BJP could not even spend the crores of rupees sent to the state by the Congress government at the Centre”.
