Vajpayee making satisfactory progress

Atal Behari Vajpayee,who is undergoing treatment at AIIMS for chest infection,is making ‘satisfactory’ progress,a doctor attending on him said.

Former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee,who is undergoing treatment at AIIMS for chest infection,is making ‘satisfactory’ progress,a doctor attending on him said on Tuesday.

“His condition is alright. He is making progress satisfactorily,” Dr Sampath Kumar,chief of Cardio Thoracic Vascular Sciences Department at the hospital,said.

Kumar said Vajpayee’s ventilatory support has been removed and he is breathing on his own.

All the basic parameters of the former Prime Minister like his heart,kidney,liver and blood pressure were normal,he said.

The 84-year-old veteran BJP leader was admitted to AIIMS on February 3 following chest infection. He was later diagnosed with pneumonia and put on ventilatory support.
