Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan on Monday refuted allegations of corruption in the urban development department.

Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan on Monday refuted allegations of corruption in the urban development department. Chavan said,“All the decisions in the urban development department were taken in a transparent manner keeping in mind the state welfare. If the Opposition could provide evidence,I will take action.”

Chavan said,“While several NDZ plots were converted into residential and commercial plots before I took over as the CM,only a few were changed in my tenure. I have cleared reservations for six plots in Nagpur and 12 in Pune. This was done following due procedure of law.” Responding to the allegation that FSI was increased in township projects to favour builders,Chavan said the need was to take moderate steps to increase FSI because of the rising demand for housing and this should not be seen negatively.
