Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi has demanded that brain-mapping be conducted on former Anti-Terrorism Squad chief K.P.Raghuvanshi amongst other officials in connection with the Malegaon blast. He said if Raghuvanshi, then joint commissioner of ATS,Subodh Kumar Jaiswal, then superintendent of police Nashik (rural) Rajvardhan and former state DGP A.N.Roy are not arrested, the party will go ahead with a protest at Azad Maidan on Wednesday.

Azmi has demanded brain-mapping on all the aforesaid police officials and blamed them for falsely implicating innocent men from Malegaon in the 2006 blast case. Speaking on the seventh anniversary of the blast according to the Islamic calendar,Azmi said,“A number of innocent Muslim men were wrongly picked up by the police in connection with the blast. We want these top officials to be put behind bars and a brain-mapping and lie-detection test be conducted,so the truth can come out.”He said the party’s protest rally starting Wednesday will go on till the demands are met.

Azmi said that seven innocent men had to spend five years in jail due to the faulty probe, for which the four police officers were responsible.
