Air surveillance

Helicopters encircled Srinagar’s Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium a day ahead of Narendra Modi’s rally on Monday. “…Some surveillance operation is going on at the top. The (security) grid is very much in place and it is highly effective,” PTI quoted GOC of 15 Corps, Lt General Subrata Saha, as saying.

Roads

All roads leading to the venue have been sealed. Concertina wires laid at several intersections in city’s Dalgate, Sonawar, Gupkar Road and TRC Crossing. The security drills conducted at key intersections caused traffic jams.

Forces

Police and CRPF deployed across Srinagar city. Apart from patrolling every intersection, they have taken up position at vantage points on buildings around the venue. Vehicle checking points have been set up, and barricades put up at entry points to the city.
