After the state government took over land and other assets at Sadhupul where Yoga guru Baba Ramdev proposed to hold a function and also inaugurate the new bloc Patanjli yogpeeth has applied to Solan Municipal Committee seeking permission to hold a function on February 27.
The trust has identified Thodo ground,Solan,as venue for its function Laxmi Dutt Sharma,state incharge of Baba Ramdevs trust,confirmed that they have asked for official permission to hold Ramdevs function as per schedule on Solan grounds.
Trust officials had also approached two Congress ministers for help in getting permission but could not get their support.
Meanwhile,the state government has filed a caveat in the high court to preempt the trusts move.
Stop changing names of schemes
The State unit of BJP Saturday launched a blistering attack against the Congress government for changing names of the schemes launched in the name of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and threatened to pay the Congress by the same coin on its return to power.
The party,at a meeting of the state executive,severely criticised the government for changing the names of Atal Ann Yojana,Atal Uniform Yojana and Atal Swasthya Yojana.
BJP president Satpal Satti,said: Congress has brought back a rein of terror and vindictive politics, while also allegeing that names of certain projects and institutions were also replaced. The Congress has started a wrong practice. There are 36 schemes in the name of a single family (Rajiv Gandhi and Nehru-Gandhi). We can also do what the Congress did now, he added.
Satti also threatened to launch a stir if the Virbhadra Singh-led government did not desist from implicating BJP leaders in false cases and ordering transfers of employees – who worked closely with BJP government.
The senior leader also opposed the state governments move to cancel land lease for Baba Ramdevs Patanjali Peeth at Sadhupul and said the BJP would support any move of Baba Ramdev.
The executive also put its seal on creating five new organisational districts (Palampur,Nurpur and Dehra in Kangra,and one each at Shimla and Mandi).
We have done this following due democratic process and veteran BJP leader Shanta Kumar,who had reservations earlier,has also given his approval, Satti said. Shanta Kumar did not attend the meeting.
