Though Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) authorities denied Rahul Gandhi permission to interact with students on the campus on Thursday,Rahul Gandhi during his three day visit on Friday morning managed to dodge the MSU authorities. After his scheduled visit at VUDA traffic circle in Vadodara, coming from Saurashtra,Rahul Gandhi's cavalcade made an unplanned entry in M S University's main campus, wherein he spend half an hour with students in Science faculty canteen sharing their tiffin boxes with them. Speaking exclusively to the Indian Express reporter,Rahul Gandhi thereafter said,"The government had not permitted me to enter the university premises, but as a person nobody can stop me from doing that. It was my commitment to come to M S University and I fulfilled it. Nobody can stop me from doing that." Rahul Gandhi met students, interacting with them, who were celebrating Traditional Day. Gujarat Congress leaders had alleged that MSU authorities had knuckled under the pressure from the Modi state government a day earlier, denying him the permission to interact with students. MSU Vice Chancellor Ramesh Goyal though had denied the allegations and said that security was the only issue and they were informed only a day earlier. Incidentally,Rahul Gandhi's visit in the central government funded premier design institute National Institute of Design (NID) in Ahmedabad went off smoothly on January 30,though the authorities were also informed just a day earlier of his visit.
