Punjab Congress president Partap Bajwa on Wednesday
claimed that the reputation of Punjab Technical University (PTU) was ruined due to Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badals political interests,who has no guts to question Vice-Chancellor Dr Rajnish Arora. alling Arora a RSS nominee,
Bajwa said: Due to the ncompetency of the V-C,who had committed irregularities worth Rs 1,000 crore in the university,the Delhi High Court had banned admissions in PTU for fleecing students. The future of 50,000 students of distance learning programme,mostly from the weaker sections and rural areas,was at stake. It has rendered 20,000 professionals working in distance learning centres of PTU jobless. Providing documents pertaining to various alleged scams in PTU,along with a list of BJP and RSS beneficiaries in the university,Bajwa claimed PTU will lose Rs 200 crore due to the ban on admissions. His list of RSS and BJP leaders included names like K L Arora,Narottam Ratti Munishver Ji,Dhaninder
Tayaland Parveen Kumar. Either these leaders or their relatives have been appointed in the PTU at high
salaries,said Bajwa. The Punjab and Haryana High Court had directed the board of director to reconsider the extension given to Dr Rajnish Arora. The V-C had allotted tenders for supply of answersheets to a firm owned by a RSS leader from Jalandhar despite objections made by the purchase committee. Earlier,he had allotted tenders worth Rs 25 crore to his favourites in BJP and RSS, he added.
