Taking suo motu cognizance of a stunt in which a motorcycle is run over outstretched arms of school children and a wooden plank on a girl in Tamil Nadu,the National Human Rights Commission has asked the chief secretary of the state to submit a report within four weeks.
The Commission has taken suo motu cognizance of the incident on the basis of the media reports on July 28. It also issued a notice to the Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu calling for a factual report within four weeks from the date of its receipt, the rights body said.
The Commission noted that media reports claimed that an event of bravery show was organised at an elementary municipal school at Keezhperumpakkam in Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu in which a motorcyclist rode over the outstreched arms of young students.
Showcasing another stunt in the event,the rider rode over a wooden plank placed on a girl of the school who was lying on the floor,commission added.
The show was part of a ceremony organised in memory of Congress leader K Kamraj.
