LPU students held for snatching wallet

Students of Lovely Professional University (LPU) on Saturday held a protest at a police station after a few of their colleagues were arrested for allegedly stealing a mans wallet.

Students of Lovely Professional University (LPU) on Saturday held a protest at a police station after a few of their colleagues were arrested for allegedly stealing a mans wallet.

According to sources,the students had allegedly snatched a wallet from a man in the Garha area. Following this,they were arrested and brought to a police post.

They were later sent to police division seven.

After coming to know about the incident,many LPU students reached the police station and started arguing with policemen present there. Finding a mediaperson clicking their photographs,the students snatched the camera and deleted all pictures. The police,however,remained a silent spectator.

When contacted,Model Town ASP Sarabjit Singh said the statement of the victim was being recorded.
