The Jammu and Kashmir government on Monday said it would reconstruct the state-owned Budshah Hotel,gutted in a devastating fire incident in 1984.
“The government has decided to reconstruct the Budshah Hotel. The work would be complete it three months,” Tourism Minister Nasir Aslam Wani told reporters here.
The reconstruction of the hotel,located at Lal Chowk area here,will cost Rs 3.50 crore,he said.
During reconstruction,its original design would be retained,he said,adding that Kashmiri handloom and handicrafts will be displayed at the hotel.
The reconstruction of the Budshah Hotel is a part of the ongoing beautification plan of the Lal Chowk and it was the prime demand of the trader’s community there,Wani said.
