The Mega Science Fair is a five day educational fair in Bangalore from Nov 29,2010 Dec 3,2010.
The fair has been organized by IBM in partnership with Agastya Foundation,supported by Sarva Siksha Abhyan,to generate and promote interests of students in science through real-time experiences.
The fair aims to encourage students from grade 5th-8th to perform experiments and explore the utility of science in everyday life. Over 50,000 school children are expected to participate in the event.
Q&A sessions with prominent scientists and luminaries will also be held during the event to and hands-on/low-cost model-making will be encouraged during the fair.
The science fair is an initiative with the Agastya Foundation and aligned to supporting the National Agenda of Inclusive Growth. It is an extension of IBMs existing efforts aiming at creating an impact with technology in rural towns and amongst disadvantaged sections of the community who are catered to by the Government schools.
