Cabinet reshuffle: Changes just cosmetic, says CM

Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, while speaking on Sunday’s Union Cabinet reshuffle, said that the ‘cosmetic face-change exercise’ of the Congress-led UPA government would hardly be able to save the party from decimation,as the citizens were tired of the “anti-people policies” of the Centre.

Speaking to mediapersons during a programme at Devki Jain College in Ludhiana on Sunday,Badal said the attempt of the Congress leadership to give a fresh look to it’s government by inducting new faces in the Cabinet would hardly make a difference. “This exercise would prove futile. What the country needed at this crucial juncture was some revolutionary changes in policies in the interests of the common man and not political gimmicks or jugglery of sorts to befool the aam adami,” Badal said.

While stating that during the UPA government corruption has surpassed all its previous records,Badal said that this government would go down in the history as the most corrupt government of the country. “It will hardly make any difference as writing is on the wall that the Congress would be routed out from the political map of the country in the next Lok Sabha elections,” Badal said. “People are eagerly waiting for the 2014 elections to show them the door. The Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat Assembly polls would be a precursor to this,” he added. He announced a grant of Rs 10 lakh for the college.
