Hitting back at Digvijay Singh for his attack on party chief Nitin Gadkari, the BJP on Thursday asked what is his locus standi to make such allegations and why he had not spoken about 2G scam and on irregularities in coal block allocation.
Singh had repeated his allegations against Gadkari, asking him to clarify the source of funding of his company. He further said Gadkari has not answered the questions raised by him.
Digvijay Singh keeps making such statements everyday. We want to know from the Congress party as to what is his status. He is not a spokesperson of the Congress. He keeps making these baseless insinuations, BJP chief spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said.
He insisted that Singh remains silent on scams thet the UPA government is facing. Singh had also said Suresh Kalmadi is innocent in the Commonwealth Games scam, Prasad said.
BJP maintained that Singh is facing charges in a scam in Madhya Pradesh and the probe is on against him.
The BJP also expressed its unhappiness over the increase and subsequent rollback in price of non-subsidised LPG cylinders saying it will harass people in Himachal Pradesh.
We would like to know why the Prime Minister, the Congress president and Rahul Gandhi do not answer one question and that is: why are they not able to control the price of LPG. Due to this (cap on subsidised LPG cylinders) people, especially in (poll-bound) Himachal Pradesh, are feeling harassed, Prasad said.
The PM,Sonia and Rahul make baseless charges against the Himachal government but do not speak on price rise and scams. This is a big betrayal of the people of the state. The government should give clear answers to these questions, Prasad said.
