Haryana to auction mineral mines

In order to ensure a scientific and systematic mining process,the Haryana government has invited technical proposals from national and international companies,which are interested in undertaking the mining of minor minerals in the districts of Mahendergarh,Dari sub-division of Bhiwani district and Rewari.

In order to ensure a scientific and systematic mining process,the Haryana government has invited technical proposals from national and international companies,which are interested in undertaking the mining of minor minerals in the districts of Mahendergarh,Dari sub-division of Bhiwani district and Rewari. Haryana has decided to auction these mines after a gap of almost two years. In March,Haryana became the first state to re-frame its minor minerals policy after direction by the Supreme Court in February.

An official spokesperson on Sunday said that a pre-proposal conference will be held on August 29 at Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation,Panchkula to clarify doubts of all interested parties.

The Supreme Court had banned mining of both major and minor minerals in Aravali forests of Haryana in 2009 and mining in the rest of the State was stopped in March,2010.

According to the state government,it incurred a revenue loss of around Rs 225 crore.
