BSP leader shot dead during Ambedkar Jayanti programme

A local BSP leader and member of the Zila Panchayat Hanuman Saran Shukla was shot dead this afternoon during an Ambedkar Jayanti programme here.

Police said Shukla was shot at by an unknown assailant when he came on the dais after garlanding a portrait of Ambedkar at the Panchayat Sabhagar.

Shukla,who suffered injuries in the head,was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead,police added.
