Local CPM leader suspected to be behind robbery caught on CCTV camera

Police said the robber, who is currently absconding, is suspected to be a branch secretary of the CPI(M) in the area

A local CPI(M) leader in Kerala is suspected to be behind a robbery, that was caught on CCTV camera, at the house of an NRI businessman.

In the video, that has now been aired on local television channels across the state, a robber wearing a ‘mundu’ pulled up to the knees and a towel over the head can be seen stealthily moving through a house. His face can be briefly seen in the video.

The house, that belongs to an NRI businessman named Younus, was found with its lock broken by relatives who filed the police complaint. No valuables were stolen from the empty house. The police complaint was filed on Monday.

Police said the robber, who is currently absconding, is suspected to be Raghavan, a branch secretary of the CPI(M) in the area. There are reports that the party has expelled him.
