As the all-party delegation to Jammu and Kashmir concluded its two-day visit to the state Monday, the government decided to hold another meeting with delegation members in the national capital to work out the way forward to restore peace in the Valley.
Different stakeholders who met the all-party delegation had made the point that there was no follow-up action by the Centre after visits of such delegations in the past.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a member of the delegation said that during the team’s return journey from Jammu to New Delhi, a senior minister in the government asked Opposition leaders about a convenient date on which everybody could meet. The meeting is likely to happen this week itself, sources added.
“We have to go through large number of memorandums submitted to us by various political and non-political groups. Besides, there are also inputs from personal visits of some members to different places,” another delegation member said.
Another member added that there was agreement on the need to move forward after interaction with stakeholders in the state.
