Three inbound flights to Chennai were diverted to Bengaluru following inclement weather.

The flights from Delhi, Kuala Lumpur and Frankfurt were diverted to Bengaluru following heavy rains in Chennai in the wee hours of June 6, airport officials said.

The flights later landed in Bengaluru after a few hours of delay when the weather became normal, they said.

Chennai has been facing intermittent rains since May. The city faced a flood situation until May 20 because of the onset of Cyclone Roanu. Since then this has been the first time the Tamil Nadu capital has received heavy rainfall.
