Even as Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Suraksha Samiti (ABHSS) Punjab cancelled its Lalkar Rally, from Chandigarh to Amritsar scheduled for Wednesday, Sikh groups announced Anakh Rally (Rally for Pride) at Beas for the same day to protest against cancelled rally.
“Although Hindu group has announced that it has cancelled the rally, we will not take any chances and will assemble at Beas on Wednesday,” SAD (Amritsar) general secretary Jaskaran Singh Kahan Singh Wala said. “We will ensure that the rally is peaceful tomorrow.”

“We met with top leadership of Samiti at Zirakpur on Monday. Lalkar Rally has been cancelled to maintain peace. The rally was against demand for Khalistan and against terrorists irrespective of faith. We are a strong votary of bonhomie and brotherhood in all religions,” said Samiti state chief Deepak Bhardwaj.
