Minister of Railways of India Ashwini Vaishnaw Thursday shared glimpses of a terminal constructed for India’s first bullet train in Ahmedabad.

The terminal is named Sabarmati Multimodal Transport Hub and is located in Gujarat’s largest city, Vaishnaw wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). The short clip showed quick looks at the sleek interior and a bird’s-eye view of the yellow-tiled exterior with solar panels on the rooftop.

The bullet train project, also known as the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) Corridor, is scheduled to be completed by 2028. A previous report in The Indian Express quoted Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who, on his visit to Japan in August 2023, claimed that the high-speed train celebrates the long-lasting friendship between India and Japan.

According to an Indian Express report, high-speed trains on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor will operate at a speed of 320 km per hour,  covering a distance of 508 km. It will have 12 stations. The project is worth Rs 19,600 crore.
