With India registering 6,660 new Covid cases in the past 24 hours, the active caseload in the country decreased to 63,380, the Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday said.

As many as 24 people succumbed to this virus in last one day. While the daily positivity rate was recorded at 3.52 per cent, the weekly positivity rate was pegged at 5.42 per cent.

The Covid case tally was recorded at 4.49 crore. India’s active cases now comprise 0.14 per cent of the total infections.

According to the ministry’s data, the national recovery rate was recorded at 98.67 per cent.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,43, 11,078 while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.18 per cent.

So far, the country has administered 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine under its nationwide vaccination drive.

  1. The Maharashtra Covid-19 task force has strongly recommended the compulsory use of face masks at both private and public hospitals.
  2. Amid the rising number of Covid-19 cases in Delhi, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has decided to earmark two beds each in its 12 departments for seriously ill Covid-19 patients coming to the emergency wing.
  3. Delhi on Monday logged 689 fresh Covid19 infections and three fatalities with a case positivity rate of 29.42, according to data shared by the Health department here.
