IAF Chief Arup Raha moots for upgrading combat potential of Eastern Command

Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha also highlighted the importance of leadership, team building and discipline which are pivotal in pursuit of achieving the operational goals.

Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha on Friday exhorted all field commanders to put in efforts to upgrade the combat potential of the Force’s Eastern Command. The Air Chief Marshal was speaking at the inaugural function of the 2-day commanders’ conference in Shillong.

In his address, the Chief of the Air Staff updated the Commanders on the security scenario with special reference to implications in the North Eastern region, defence spokesperson Amit Mahajan said.

Raha also highlighted the importance of leadership, team building and discipline which are pivotal in pursuit of achieving the operational goals.

Earlier on his arrival, Raha was received by Eastern AirCommand’s Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief and other senior officers. A ceremonial Guard of Honour was also presented to the CAS on his arrival at Shillong ALG.

During the conference, the Air Chief Marshal also awardedtrophies to the commanders for achieving excellence in thefields f operations, maintenance and administration.

Air Force Station, Tezpur was awarded the ‘Pride of EAC’Trophy for dominating in the overall performance among the stations and Air Force Station, Dinjan was awarded the ‘Best Non-Flying Station’.
