Punjab Government has started a recruitment process for 8000 school teachers across the state,Education Minister Sikander Singh Maluka said here today.

“The state government is committed to provide education to every child. To meet this target the government has asked for data of vacant posts in schools”,he said.

To ensure 100 per cent attendance of teachers in schools,the education department has constituted teams which would randomly check the presence of teachers in their schools,examine the admission record of schools,besides the quality

of mid-day meals,Maluka said.

He also said that it was found that some teachers had shown bogus admissions in their schools to save their postings and this would be dealt with strictly.

Strict action would also be taken against teachers who could not produce good results from their students,said Maluka.

Orders had been issued to all higher officials to ensure that no teacher took part in political activities,he added.
