Seven held with pistol,cartridges

Police recovered seven country-made pistols,30 cartridges,three mobile phones and an SUV.

Seven people alleged to be involved in cases relating to murder,robbery and kidnapping,have been arrested from near S P Jain College under Town police station in Bihar’s Rohtas district,SP Manu Maharaj said.

Acting on a tip-off,the police raided a place and arrested them besides seizing seven country-made pistols,30 cartridges,three mobile phones besides an SUV,Maharaj added.

The accused were identified as Binod Yadav,Dilip Sonekar,Babloo Sonekar,Rakesh Sonekar,Rockey Sonekar,Dinesh Sonekar and Jitendra Chandravanshi.

India has strongly condemned Pakistan’s recent military actions along the Afghan border, accusing Islamabad of sheltering and sponsoring terrorist organisations amid escalating tensions between the two neighbours. At a press briefing on Thursday, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal also underlined New Delhi’s support for Afghanistan’s sovereignty and independence.
