One injured in firing in Delhi

A property dealer,who is a nephew of late Delhi Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma,allegedly opened fire at a business rival following a dispute over money,police said.

A property dealer,who is a nephew of late Delhi Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma,allegedly opened fire at a business rival following a dispute over money,police said today.

The incident took place in Dichaon Kalan area of south-west Delhi’s Najafgarh last night,a senior police official said.

According to the official,one Billu was shot twice allegedly by Pawan Lakra,at around 11 pm yesterday. Billu was rushed to Mata Chanan Devi Hospital in Janakpuri.

Billu and Lakra allegedly had a dispute over around Rs four lakh.

“Last night while Billu was at home,Lakra along with his friends reached there and two had a heated argument. Pawan pulled out a pistol and shot at Billu who was hit on hand and knee. Then they fled from the spot,” the official said.

Billu’s statement was not recorded yet as he was not medically fit to do so,the official said adding a case of attempt to murder has been lodged.

Efforts are on to arrest the accused.
