Non-payment of salary,man threatens to jump off scaffolding

Police and fire personnel went into a tizzy today after a youth threatened to jump off a scaffolding of a Hotel under construction on the busy Mount Road here,upset over non-payment of salary by his employer for few months.

Police and fire personnel went into a tizzy today after a youth threatened to jump off a scaffolding of a Hotel under construction on the busy Mount Road here,upset over non-payment of salary by his employer for few months.

The youth was found hanging from a steel bar,which was part of the metal scaffolding of the yet-to-be completed four-star hotel at Teynampet around 1 pm,police and fire department personnel said.

He agreed to get down only after he was shown a cheque for his salary from his employee.

The man in his late 20s,clad in a shirt and lungi,was later given the cheque and taken to the police station for questioning,sources added.
