Cheating case registered against ex-SP MLA,aide

The former MLA is already lodged in jail for alleged misbehaviour with CBI sleuths in a food scam probe.

A case has been registered against jailed ex-SP legislator Om Prakash Gupta and his aide at Kotwali police station on charges of fraud and cheating,police said today.

The case was registered last night on a complaint filed by Awinash Vaishya,who accused the former MLA and his aide Vinay Gupta of misusing his identity to fraudulently acquire property.

The duo had also used his documents to transfer his vehicles in their names,Vaishya alleged.

The complainant was an employee of the former legislator from 2000 to 2006.

The former Samjwadi Party MLA is lodged in Sitapur jail for alleged misbehaviour and non-cooperation with CBI sleuths in a food scam probe.
