Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA and INDIA bloc member Aaditya Thackeray says, "I want to congratulate the Election Commission from the bottom of my heart. Their experiment of the SIR, through which they removed 65 lakh voters for their owners, BJP, was successful."

"Would Nitish Kumar actually become the Chief Minister owing to the BJP's game... I suggest he stay alert, because we have seen the BJP from up close... I don't believe that the schemes for women could influence their votes. Women always put thought into who they vote for... They have not voted, looking at 'notes' but at the face... They (NDA) are using the excuse of the 'Ladli Behna' scheme to justify their win through vote-chori... This magic happened due to the Election Commission... What's the point of such an election where you cut the votes of 65 lakh voters? Call it the Selection Commission of India, why do they even call it the Election Comission of India," he questioned.

Andhra Pradesh CM spoke to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He congratulated Nitish Kumar on the NDA’s massive victory in Bihar. "Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the NDA continues to be a strong force for progress of the nation, and I am pleased that the people of Bihar have once again placed their trust in the hands of the double engine Sarkar for the welfare and development of the state," Naidu posted on X.

Union Minister and LJP(RV) chief Chirag Paswan met Bihar CM Nitish Kumar today. After the meeting, he said, "The NDA registered a historic victory under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, so our LJP(RV) delegation met him to convey this. I am pleased that the CM appreciated the role of every alliance partner. He supported the LJP(RV) candidate when he voted, and in Alauli, where I vote, I supported the JD(U) candidate. This shows that those trying to mislead people about JD(U) and LJP(RV) were only creating a false narrative."

On PM Modi's post-victory speech, Bihar BJP chief Dilip Jaiswal says, "This new factor (M-Y) came before us yesterday. I appreciate the PM's idea. PM Modi worked with Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for the empowerment of Mahila' (women) and 'Yuva' (youth)...Youth could see their future in PM Modi's words. So, this new factor was an important factor in Bihar elections..." " For a year, PM Modi held several programs in Bihar. He gave special package of lakhs and crores of rupees for the development of Bihar...Lakhs of people used to come to his rallies. PM Modi's popularity was clearly seen in Bihar. Nitish Kumar walked with PM Modi and worked for the development of Bihar. So, PM Modi's guarantee of development and the trust of people of Bihar earned by Nitish Kumar made it clear 5-6 months ago that NDA will form the Govt with a thumping majority. We organised an NDA workers' convention in January-February 2025. All NDA allies went to the people as the 5 Pandavas...I would like to thank Union Home Minister Amit Shah. I admire him for his strategies. We brought his strategies to the ground..."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi says: "Today, the Congress has become the Muslim League-Maoist Congress, that is, MMC. The kind of negative politics that the party's leaders are engaged in has created the possibility of another major division in the Congress! "

The Bihar Assembly Election 2025 results saw the NDA, led by Nitish Kumar and the BJP, register a landslide victory, decisively outperforming the Mahagathbandhan opposition. As results came in yesterday, NDA took an unassailable lead with BJP winning 92 seats and JD(U) securing 83, while allies like LJP-RV registered significant gains. In the Mahagathbandhan, the RJD managed only 25 seats, the Congress a mere 5, and the Left parties collapsed to just three seats.

Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM equalled its own tally of 5 seats in the last elections, while Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party, which approached voters with the promise of alternative politics, failed to open its tally, and even losing deposits on several seats. With an overall vote percentage of 2%, JSP candidates scored lower than NOTA on many seats. Check the full tally below.

PM Narendra Modi addressed jubilant supporters at the BJP headquarters, hailing a record mandate and calling the verdict a "tsunami". He credited the win to governance, the new “MY” (Mahila-Youth) formula, and expressed gratitude to voters and allies. Amit Shah claimed the SIR process purified the voters' list and that voters had rejected politics of appeasement. JD(U) leader Anant Singh won Mokama from jail — his sixth consecutive term.

The Mahagathbandhan conceded defeat, with Congress leaders calling for introspection. In bypolls elsewhere, Congress celebrated a win in Rajasthan’s Anta, and BJP captured Nagrota in J&K.

Mahagathbandhan's Deputy CM face Mukesh Sahni says, "We shall stand with the public to ensure they are not cheated... If they [NDA] don't release the remaining Rs 1 lakh 90 thousand in a timely manner, the public who has made us sit at home will do the same to them... The base votes went to us... But a huge section, especially the women, blindly voted for Nitish Kumar, which is why he has received such a huge mandate..."

Raghopur result: Tejashwi Yadav is back in the lead over BJP's Satish Kumar. He is leading by 13,880 votes in the final round of counting.

The results for the Bihar Assembly Elections are being declared today. The NDA is heading towards a landslide victory, if not a record win. It's best show was in 2010 when the JD(U)-BJP alliance scored 206 seats. The Mahagathbandhan, on the other hand is staring at a massive defeat, with the Congress and RJD praying to avoid a 2010 rerun. The Congress' lowest-ever tally in Bihar was 4 seats and the RJD's worst show was 22 in 2010.

Anant Singh, the only candidate to contest from the jail, won the Mokama seat for the sixth time. As of 7 PM, the ECI has declared wins for the BJP on 12 seats, JDU in 6, RJD in 3, LJP (Ram Vilas) in 1, AIMIM IN 1. Check the tally below. The NDA is heading towards a 202-seat win, just short of the 2010 tally.

Amit Shah has hailed the mandate, saying the pre-election SIR process in Bihar reflected the mood of the nation and Bihar voted favouring a "purification of voters' list".

Amit Shah says: "No matter in what guise those who practice 'jungle raj' and appeasement politics come, they will not get any opportunity to loot. The public now gives its mandate solely and exclusively on the basis of ‘Politics of performance’."

BJP candidates Prem Kumar, Vinay Bihari, and Sanjay Kumar Pandey have won the Gaya Town, Lauriya, Narkatiaganj seats, respectively

JD(U) has registered the top 3 highest margins of victory so far in Harnaut (Hari Narayan Singh- 48,335 margin), Kalyanpur (Maheshwar Hazari-38,586-vote margin), and Alauli (Ram Chandra Sada - 35,732-vote margin).

The BJP has won the Mdhuban and Sahebganj constituencies. Rana Randhir from Madhuban won by a margin of 5,492 votes while Raju Kumar Singh won the Sahebganj seat by 13,522 votes.

JD(U)'s Hari Narayana Singh and Manorma Devi have won the have won the Harnaut and Belaganj seats, respectively.

The RJD, which is leading on just 24 seats, is hoping to avoid a rerun of its 2010 performance when the party managed to win only 22 seats. As per NDTV, with a lead on just 1 seat, the Congress is staring at its worst performance ever. The party recorded its lowest seat tally of 4 in 2010.

Mahagathbandhan's CM face Tejashwi Yadav is trailing in Raghopur by 4,829 votes. He was among the first of the Opposition leaders to file nomination. Satish Kumar from the BJP is leading. So far the BJP leader has bagged 44,929 votes (11/30 rounds).

As vote-counting trends show a huge NDA lead, Mahagathbandhan is struggling to touch even 40 seats.

In Rajasthan's Anta bypoll, Congress found some reason to cheer as party leader Pramod Jain registered a win over BJP's Morpal Suman with a margin of -15,612.

Chirag Paswan's Lok Jan Shakti Party has taken the lead in Mahua constituency. LJP leader Sanjay Kumar Singh is leading with over 3,000 votes. RJD rebel and Tejashwi Yadav's brother Tej Pratap is trailing by over 26,000 votes in the third spot, as per the ECI.

The NDA is now past the 200 mark in leads, with the BJP and JD(U) ahead in 91 and 81 seats respectively. On the other hand, the Tejashwi Yadav-led RJD is staring at its second worst performance in the Bihar Assembly polls.

Bypolls Results update: The counting for the assembly bypolls in 8 constituencies are also going on, alongwith the Bihar elections vote counting. So far, the results of two constituencies — Nagrota in J&K and Dampa in Mizoram — have been declared. BJP's Devyani Rana has won the Nagrota byelection by a margin of 24647 votes and MNF's R Lalthangliana has won the Dampa seat by 562 votes.

After 9/24 rounds of counting, BJP leader Maithili Thakur is leading in Alinagar, with over 4,000 votes. Before the elections, she had said that if she won the seat, she would push for a name-change of the constituency. She said the region would be renamed to 'Janaki Nagar' or 'Mithila Nagar' or 'Sita Nagar' after Goddess Sita.

Acknowledging the trends against the Mahagathbandhan, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav blamed the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) for the negative mandate. "The game of the SIR played in Bihar will no longer be possible in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, UP, and other places now because this electoral conspiracy has been exposed. From now on, we shall not let them play this game. Like CCTV, our 'PPTV', meaning 'PDA Prahari', will stay vigilant and thwart the BJP's intentions. BJP is not a party; it is another term for deceit."

The two Deputy CMs in the Nitish Kumar Cabinet are placed comfortably in their constituencies. While Samrat Chaudhary is leading by a margin of over 11,000 votes in Tarapur (round 9/30), Vijay Kumar Sinha is ahead by over 6,000 votes in Lakhisarai (round 7/34).

Rahul Gandhi's 'vote chori' campaign seems to have fallen flat on its face. Going by the trends after 12 noon, Congress is unlikely to reach even double figures. At 12:15 PM, the Congress was leading on just 6 seats, behind its INDIA bloc allies RJD and CPI(ML).

Former MLA and JD(U) candidate Anant Singh has extended his lead in Mokama over RJD's Veena Devi by over 13,000 after 10 rounds of counting. Singh is in jail in the Dular Chand murder case.

The massive lead by NDA after 3.5 hours of vote counting has dealt a blow to Tejashwi Yadav's hope of becoming the CM. In fact, if the Mahagathbandhan wins the elections and he takes oath, Tejashwi would be the youngest person to do so. The youngest CM to take oath in India till date has been Pema Khandu, who assumed the office of the Arunachal Pradesh CM at the age of 37.

Former Mokama MLA Anant Kumar Singh is leading the seat by 11,055 votes at 10:55 AM, as per the ECI. Anant Kumar Singh is currently in jail since November 2. He faces charges in the Dularchand Yadav murder case. Yadav was a Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) supporter, who was killed during an election rally on October 30.

Bihar Election Results 2025: At 10:41 AM, BJP's Sanjay Saraogi is leading in Darbhanga against Vikassheel Insaan Party's Umesh Sahani.

Bihar Election Results: The Mahagathbandhan is now down to a 58-seat lead in Bihar. The NDA, on the other hand, has increased its lead to cross 180, as per NDTV.

At 10:30 PM, the NDA has a massive lead of 169, while the Mahagthbandhan has lead in just 70 constituencies, as per NDTV.

NDA leads in 136 seats, surpassing the majority mark of 122, in early trends as counting progresses for Bihar polls, says ECI.

Bihar vote counting LIVE update: RJD rebel and JJD chief Tej Pratap trails in Mahua at 10:15 am. LJP (Ram Vilas) is leading by 5,823 votes.

BJP national spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain says, "The result is clearly visible. We are going to win. The people of Bihar have faith in PM Modi, Nitish Kumar and the NDA. The people have voted in favour of the 20 years of government..."

At 9:30 AM, early trends of vote counting showed the NDA cross the majority mark, as per NDTV. The NDA was ahead on 146 seats, and the Mahagathbandhan on 73. JD-U's Anant Singh is still leading in Mokama, while BJP's Mangal Pandey is trailing in Siwan.

Mohammad Shahabuddin's son and RJD candidate Osama Shahab is leading in Raghunathpur.

The counting of votes for bypolls in 8 assembly constituencies in six states and 1 Union Territory is also underway. In Nagrota (J&K) Assembly by-election, BJP's Devyani Rana is leading over Jammu & Kashmir National Panthers Party (India)'s Harsh Dev Singh with a margin of 1,111 votes after counting round 1/11.

In Dampa (Mizoram), Mizo National Front's R Lalthangliana is leading over Zoram People's Movement candidate Vanlalsailova by 170 votes after 1/5 round of counting.

In Punjab's Tarn Taran, Shiromani Akali Dal Leader Sukhwinder Kaur is ahead of Aam Aadmi Party's Harmeet Singh Sandhu by 1,480 votes after 2/16 rounds of counting.

As per the early trends, NDA leads on 85 seats; Mahagathbandhan on 57. Figures as of 8:55 am.

Bihar Assembly Election Results 2025 Live Updates: As per the early trends put out by NDTV, of postal ballots counting has given the BJP reason to keep its chin up as Samrat Chaudharyleads in Tarapur and Maithili Thakur surges ahead in Alinagar.

JDU leader Neeraj Kumar says, "The counting of votes has begun... The sun of democracy has risen in the country... The people of the state trust Nitish Kumar and the NDA... The people have trust in PM Modi, Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Upendra Kushwaha. Pandava will win today..."

The counting of votes for all the 243 Assembly seats in Bihar has begun under tight security. The vote counting has begun with the postal ballots. EVM vote counting will begin around 8:30 am as the counting of postal ballots reach the penultimate round.

Bihar Assembly Election Results 2025: Ahead of the vote counting, slated to begin at 8 AM today, Gaya SSP Anand Kumar details the security preparations. "Every strong room has three-layer security. Along with that, all the entrances and all the sensitive areas around them are under full surveillance. Across the entire city and nearby areas, there are 10 motorcycle QRTs, with around 200 personnel continuously patrolling. Our district control room is functional, and all arrangements at every location are in proper order. We will conduct today's vote counting peacefully," he says

Ahead of the counting of votes for the Bihar Elections 2025, Independent MP from Purnea, Pappu Yadav has claimed the BJP cannot win any election without "lying, money power, theft". He alleged: "The BJP tried its best to ensure that a BJP government is formed instead of the Nitish government...Women, youth voted in favour of the Opposition."

Axis My India was a little conservative in its prediction but still forecast an NDA win, giving the alliance a win range of 121-141 seats. For Mahagathbandhan, it had a slightly better prediction than Matrize with a win possibility of 98-118 seats. The Jan Suraaj Party, if it opened its account, would win a maximum of 2 seats, the Axis My India survey predicted.

The elections have not been without their share of acrimony this time, with both the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan hurling jibes and personal remarks against one another's leaders. From remarks on families to Chhath Puja and 'jungle raj', the Bihar elections saw high-tension campaigns from both sides.
