A cricketer-turned-politician, Tejashwi, for many, is an extension of Lalu. For some others, he is nowhere close to his father when it comes to crowd-pulling. There is, however, an overwhelming feeling that Lalu's absence is a loss for the party and will also tell on the gathbandhan.
Asserting that the BJP has failed to deliver on its slogans, including 'achche din', 'kala dhan vapsi (return of black money)' and 'beti bachao beti padhao', he alleged that the party has intensified its "hate-filled politics" to avoid being questioned on its promises.
Addressing a public meeting in Uttar Pradesh Saturday, the prime minister aggressively pitched his backward caste identity, declaring that he was not just an OBC, but was "born" into the "most-backward caste".

Patna, Feb 08 (ANI): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday interacted with people and heard their grievances at his ‘Janata Darbar’. Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav also attended the event and interacted with the people. Speaking at the event, Tejashwi said people of Bihar chose their party to serve them and this platform will help the Government in solving their problems in presence of many senior officials. He added that soon a law would be brought in the state where the officers who don’t solve the case in a time-bound manner will be fined.
